Biography

My name is Vanny Vay and I was born in Macau, Hong Kong but raised in Vancouver, BC Canada. Throughout my life I have been searching for my passion, something that sets me apart from the masses and fills me with a sense of accomplishment. Today, I can truly say I have found my passion, it is Fitness and I am making it my career.

Two years ago I was an accountant. I had studied fashion merchandising, and held jobs in the hospitality industry, but nothing ever seemed to fit. I finally decided to make a change when I was rejected as a kidney donor for my sister due to my unhealthy lifestyle. Although I had not stepped foot in a gym since high school gymnastics, I decided to begin training at my local gym and as soon as I started noticing results I knew I was hooked.

For once in my life I have energy, I am strong, focused, and empowered. I feel as though I can accomplish any goal that I set for myself and I am now attempting to prove this to myself and others.

My first goal was to become fit enough to compete in the Fitness industry. I trained hard and came in 2^nd place in the bikini division of 2008 FAME West. I had learned so much in my first year of training, and I wanted to share that knowledge in order to motivate others like myself. This put forth my second goal, to become a personal trainer so that I can inspire others, the same way that I had been inspired. I am now a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer with several loyal and hard working clients and am in the process of starting my own business.

Today, I not only compete for myself, but for my clients and anyone with the desire to change their life and strive towards a personal goal. I want to show others that you can achieve great things by simply committing to them and working as hard as you can, whether in fitness or any other area of life.

Since my first competition I have placed 1^st in the bikini division of 2009 FAME West and 6^th in the diva bikini division of the 2009 WBFF – BC Championships. Competing with the WBFF has opened my eyes to the fitness industry. They provide their athletes with the greatest opportunity to showcase their hard work in what is becoming a very competitive and fast growing industry. I look forward to competing in the rest of the World Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation’s 2009 scheduled events. I do dare to dream.
