Rob Riches
Biography
London born athlete and celebrity fitness model, Rob Riches, is a man of unique diversity and multi-talents. Since winning his first fitness competition at 21, he has won a multitude of international competitions, including Fitness Britain, London Middleweight Champion, Heart of England Champion, and titles such as Americas Best Body Pro Fitness Model and Musclemania World Champion.
While working tirelessly on developing his body, competing Internationally and qualifying as a certified trainer, he also found time to exercise his mind, gaining a degree in Film Production which he promptly utilized within the fitness industry, producing several feature-length DVD’s, including a promotional DVD showcasing Europe’s finest athletes, and one for Clark Bartram: Americas Most Trusted Fitness Professional, titled; How to be a Fitness Model, not to mention covering numerous fitness expo’s, interviewing many of the world’s top models and competitors.
Since moving to Los Angeles in the summer of 2007, Rob has been in demand as both a model and host, whilst continuing training others, duplicating his successful career in the UK where he worked as a celebrity fitness trainer, coaching actors, sportsmen, and TV personalities. The move stateside to California did no harm to Robs momentum, as he directed and hosted a mini-series on bodybuilding.com working alongside actor/comedian, Ron Lester, which led to him receiving the converted Trainer of The Month award in August 2008.
As one of the top sponsored athletes with LA Muscle, Europe’s largest sports and supplement company, Rob is an advanced, certified Personal Trainer and has helped models and athletes alike to prepare for photo shoots and competitions. He has endorsed a number of sports products over the years and writes as a nutrition expert for a number of companies, including The Artists Forum, Luxury Health & Beauty, and moderates his own fitness forum on lamuscle.com. Rob’s respect and popularity in the fitness industry has earned him to be the face and body of a top European nutritional product – Norateen Hollywood Body.
Represented by several international sporting agencies, [Sports Unlimited W Athletics] and photographed by some of the worlds top celebrity and physique photographers, including Blake Little, Giuliano Bekor, and Jason Ellis, Rob has been featured in many top fitness publications including Muscle & Fitness, Ironman, and Men’s Health to name a few.
As a lifelong sports enthusiast, Rob loves pushing both machine and body to the limit, and has been involved in a number of competitive sports from a young age including track and field, mountain biking, windsurfing, snowboarding, and motor sport. At 17, Rob found himself at a pivotal point in his life when offered a career in Formula Car racing after years of track work, but his passion for fitness was already a key factor in his life, and so decided to pursue down the track of sports over machine.
Ironically, It was a Mountain Biking accident that left him with a broken shoulder during his teenage years that led him to developing his strength and physique after taking an interest in how the body repaired itself and responded to stress, and rapidly got hooked at a local body building gym where he transformed his body over the following years.
Soon after moving stateside to California, Rob went back to his roots and utilized his studies in film and video production to be the US executive producer on a new fitness channel called LA Muscle TV, in which he started hosting a weekly, studio-based chat show in Beverly Hills, before moving on to featuring the World’s top fitness models and athletes in a series of ‘behind-the-scenes’ video’s. He is regularly called upon as the fitness expert on a number of health and fitness shows, including featured on several network and cable TV shows.
Rob’s goal is to continue on building his name as a key player in the evolution of natural training and sports nutrition, and to be considered the reference source within his field.
