Sometimes, a little cardio goes a long way!

I’m sure I am not the only one who competes in this sport (or out of anyone who has ever tried to cut a leaner shape, for that matter!) to have ever felt a certain love/hate relationship with cardio! Indeed! To me that good ol’ slow and steady, long duration cardio session more closely resembles a ” Chinese Water Torture”, rather than a way to get in shape! I would actually rather you just shot me in the head, to get me out of my imminent misery, or better yet..kindly lend me your “Straight Jacket’ :P

This is why I was no less than THRILLED to find out from my trainer, Erik Ledin that I didn’t need to do hours of cardio weekly in order to cut a decent shape! Indeed! Although calories are being kept rather low, my  training programs over the last 3 months have never comprised more than 2 hours of cardio a WEEK!!!!!  Seriously! 120 minutes of cardio a week.. and you still get to look like a walking  anatomy model? This is almost as close to dying and going to heaven as one can possibly get.. in my honest opinion, anyway! ( ok.. I’m easy!.. HAHA) (more…)
