It is with the utmost joy that I am announcing that Oxygen magazine has named me as a new columnist with my first piece set to debut in the July 2010 issue. This is one of the greatest honors of my career. Words cannot describe how truly grateful I am to receive this privilege. To be barely a year in this industry and to have an opportunity to be a regular contributor for one of the biggest female fitness magazines in the country is truly remarkable and humbling at the same time. When I purchased my first copy of Oxygen magazine at 16 years old, I never in my wildest dreams thought one day I would be contributing to a publication that as been so influential in educating women all over the country about health and fitness. It’s like I am living a dream and I never want to wake up. I would not be where I am today if it were not for the support of those around me. I would like to thank the following people for being exceptionally influential in helping me land this opportunity.

I would like to Thank Bob Kennedy, Tosca Reno, Stacey Kennedy, Diane Hart, Erin Smith, and the rest of the Oxygen staff. I couldn’t be more blessed to work with such tremendously professional team. I also would like to Thank Paul Dillett, Allison Dillett and the rest of the WBFF Staff for connecting me with Oxygen in the first place. This opportunity is a direct result of competing with the WBFF and would never have happened if I had not stepped on the their stage. I am so proud of my affiliation with the WBFF and cannot emphasize how thankful I am for all the opportunities they have given me. Simply put, the WBFF is by far the best fitness organization in the world. These opportunities never possible without the support of your family, close friends and fans. You mean the world to me. I truly want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for their unconditional support of my career.

My goal as a new columnist for Oxygen Magazine is to share my knowledge and experiences in an effort to help empower, educate, and motivate women all over the country to live healthy happy lives from the inside out.

Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for making a dream come true. And to all of you, I promise that I will continue to do my best and make you proud.

This blog has taken me longer to write than I initially intended. Mostly, because I don’t know how to put into words the gratitude I have towards all of those in the Fitness Industry that have supported my journey and have provided me with numerous opportunities to live out my Cinderella story. The people I’ve met have all been so kind and genuine. They’ve become more like friends than business associates.

First and foremost – Paul Dillett and The WBFF hold my deepest appreciation. The Team of Allison Dillett – the Mastermind behind The WBFF, Angelique Gazey – beautiful and talented Athlete Relations Rep, Melissa Drew – the best Stage Manager around, the most entertaining MC ever – Daryl Gazey and Web Wizard Dennis Cruz form a force that is like nothing else in this industry. Not only are they all business savy, they treat each individual WBFF athlete like a family member.

Paul Dillet’s many years as a Professional Bodybuilder have developed strong connections throughout the fitness world. Those very connections are what have allowed up and coming athletes such as myself to become successful. How many others would share their experiences so selflessly to see their peers exceed everyone’s expectations? Paul’s network of professional contacts act as an extraordinary resource for The WBFF Athletes that he has a true concern for. (more…)
