Although I LOVE the job I do for the WBFF, AND as proud and thrilled as I am with how large we have grown, I cannot help but wish that I had more time and resources to locate and feature athletes. That is because I am just BLOWN AWAY that the quality of competitors that we attract. They truly DO want to be amongst the best of the best. People who know me, know that if I could write and feature every single competitor in the WBFF, then I would. But being realistic, I have to rely on the word of coaches, other competitors, and myself as I flip through sites like facebook and I notice people I had not seen before. Whether it be their physique, beauty, story, drive, passion, willingness to help others, or a mix of all… the people I feauture literally jump out at me when I find them. And let me make something clear… that in NO WAY means or implies that ANYONE is better than ANYONE else. As I said, if I could, I would feature EVERYONE. That is why it is so important for people to step up and promote themselves, and promote each other. I simple took the lead because of the forum I was presented with. I hope MANY people follow what I do and bring our competitors to the fans in any way they can.
That being said, as I was ON facebook, one woman caught my attention. Did you ever watch a movie that has a star that is a complete unknown, yet you find them absolutely captivating? That is how I would describe Asta Saknyte. I had never heard of her, never seen her, never expected her. Then I saw a picture and was drawn to it. Her shape, condition, level of feminine muscularity, dare I say sex appeal, and just natural beauty cannot be denied. When you see a picture of this woman, you cannot help but stare at it. I use the word mainstream a lot. Asta is something MUCH different. She could EASILY be a mainstream model if she wanted to, due to her undeniable natural beauty, YET she ISN’T mainstream. She is VERY different and a definite stand out. Put it this way… out of pictures of 600 competitors, SHE stood out. I would say that is a testament to how unique she is.
Whether Asta placed first, or last… whether she was a pro or amateur? Doesn’t matter at all, and proves a point I have been trying to make over and over. Placing is just about the LEAST reason anyone should compete in the WBFF. None of that mattered when I saw her. I have seen EVERYONE! Pro and Amateur. And when I saw Asta I was blown away by the whole package. Physique, body, condition. AND she is just about THE MOST humble, gracious, and down to earth person I have ever met.
Asta Saknyte IS a star. And if you take a look at her pictures and her modeling versatility, then you HAVE to admit she is already a remarkable Fitness Model. Prediction… this woman has quite a future ahead of her. Not only ON the stage, but also OFF.
When Frank asked me to share my story I was beyond excited. But then I
got worried what to say. I don’t have a tuff struggle story to tell.
I’m a dreamer that works hard.
I was born in Lithuania, grew up in a very small town. From early age
I was taught about hard work and importance of education if I wanted
to be somebody. So I apply those lessons in everything I do. I train
with the same mentality – lots of hard work, no whining and patience.
Everything started 5 yrs ago, when I gave birth to my son Kannon. I
was determined to get back in shape, started with home DVDs, then
found out about my good friend, personal trainer Tim Dorsey moving
back to town. I was determined to get those abs, then to shape my
arms, legs… So setting small goals was the begging of my journey.
Competing was never my goal. But I was approached my Mike Rashid, Wbff
Pro muscle model to join his team and prepare for Wbff Worlds in
Vegas. And that was the biggest turning point in my journey. I’ve
learned so much about myself, my mindset and my body was changing. The
changes that I saw, kept me wanting more and more.
Physical training teaches me self discipline, pushes me beyond my
limits in my mind. I always tell my friends, training is mental!
So I surround my self with mind like people, I learn from more experienced
ones and stay goal oriented. I feel blessed that I’ve found what I’m
passionate about. If my passion and hard work inspire or motivate others,
that is my ultimate reward!
Success isn’t what others see, but it’s how you feel, doing what you love,
what puts joy into your heart. Thank you for letting me share a bit of my
story and thoughts. And I will see you at Wbff LA event!!!! Much love! Asta.
